Bas van Lier

Keyboardist Bas van Lier is a permanent guest at the Red Light Jazz festival. He has played in multiple locations during previous editions, with his trio, with his band Bl3nder and as a keyboardist with other artists including Candy Dulfer. On Sunday June 5, Bas will perform with his own trio in TenClub in the Nes, one of the new stage locations of the Red Light Jazz festival.

Bas van Lier is inspired by heavy soul and jazz icons such as Les McCann and Ramsey Lewis. By combining his love for contemporary R&B and his knowledge of traditional jazz heroes, Van Lier creates his own sound: powerful, bluesy and at the same time subtle. Because of his catchy melodies and his sense of rhythm, Van Lier is not only appreciated by real jazz connoisseurs, but also by a young audience!
